The famous figure skater Tatiana Navka and the charming actor Marat Basharov rented a house in the village of Fedjakino in the Rjazan district and are living there together.
35 year old figure skater Tatiana Navka became a frequent and welcome guest at the nearby village of Konstantinovo where the filming of the movie called “Village Comedy” is taking place. Marat Basharov is playing one of the lead roles in this movie.
Initially, Marat stayed in a hotel in the nearby city of Rjazan. Now, at the request of his captivating lover, this skating-acting couple is renting a home in a picturesque village. The locals in this province consider them a married couple, not knowing that each of them is married to other people.
Away from Moscow’s hustle and bustle, the couple feels comfortable, visiting the local pub and restaurant and liking the beer there. They even dress and behave like the locals. One of the most durable couples in the world of figure skating and show business broke up about a year ago. News about the divorce of Ilja and Irina shocked a lot of people. While admirers of the famous couple were considering the facts, the skaters themselves dived into new romances.
For about a year now, Irina has been involved romantically with actor Dmitry Marjanov. He was able to catch her attention in the first weeks of their work on the project “Ice Period.”
Their romance evolved very rapidly. Colleagues at the show saw what was happening but were not in a hurry to announce it or to discuss between them the relationship of a 38 year old actor and 35 years old figure skater, who was at that time married to the 40 years old Tatiana Skorokhodova.
There were many reasons mentioned for the divorce of Irina and Ilja: stardom, infidelity, financial difficulties, even black magic may have separated the couple. After they separated, it was difficult for them to maintain relations when they lived apart; they stopped communicating and understanding each other and Irina filed for divorce.
After the divorce the couple stayed friendly. Ilja has good relations with their son Martin and he supports his former wife and son financially.
Irina never removed from her neck a pendant in a shape of a skate that was given to her by Ilja sometimes ago.

31 year old former figure skater Anton Sikharulidze resumed his relations with his former lover, whom he was supposed to marry a few moths ago.
Friends are happy that Anton and Nadia are back together again.
The wedding of one of the most interesting couples in Russian show business, a 23 year old journalist and a famous figure skater who is presently a politician, was scheduled for July 5, but a few moths before that date Anton announced that it was canceled. He said that they changed their minds about getting married.
However the decision was not final. Recently they restarted their two year old romance.
The break up occurred after the finale of the ice show – “Ice Period." Anton’s participation in the show became a hot topic for the lovers. Almost after every rehearsal Nadia accused Anton of infidelity. To calm her down, the skater asked her to marry him. For some time it worked, but then they quarreled again. We will see what will happen this time.

In about a month’s time the beautiful show – “Ice Period” will again appear on our TV screens. At this time, the producers do not have to attract the stars, the stars are approaching the program by themselves. But to want to do the show and to be able to do it, are two completely different things.
Tatiana Navka, Anna Semenovich and Maxim Marinin are considering taking part in the show, skating with different actors and singers.
As stated by observers, some of the actors were too old and were too heavy to participate in the show and it was hard and very funny to watch them falling on the ice.
One thing is clear; the commentators for "Ice Period" will again be Irina Slutskaya and Marat Basharov.
The producers had some problems attracting high level figure skaters since there are not too many of them. For several months now, Ilja Averbuch – the producer of the show -- tried to recruit Ekaterina Gordeeva and Ilja Kulik. The couple has promised to respond by mid-August. They are skating in American shows and are being paid big money, so the producers of "Ice Period" will have to come up with high payments as well. Besides, their two daughters are staying in the States.
Negotiations with Olympic Champion Elena Berezhnaya are also progressing. A year ago, Elena became a mother, but she is in a great shape. It is not clear if her husband, British figure skater Steven Cousins, would let her go for such a long period.
Despite gossip that Ilja did not invite his former wife, Irina Lobacheva, to participate in the show, she will be there.
The competitor of "Ice Period" – the TV Channel “Russia” -- is working on its own ice show in strict secrecy. Their key participants are Pluschenko and Rudkovskaya, although the contracts are not signed yet. The participants of this show will practice in Germany.
The Summer Olympic Gold Medal of Figure Skater Nikolay Panin.

It is hard to believe that the first Russian Champion of the summer Olympics was a figure skater. Nikolay Panin-Kolomenkin won a Gold Medal exactly 100 years ago at the London Games of 1908.
At that time, the schedule of the 4th Olympic Games for the first time included a non-summer sport – figure skating. It was classic figure skating where the sportsman drew special figures upon the ice. As it was required, Panin sent the drawings of the figures that he was planning to draw on ice to the Olympic committee.
The figures were so complicated that some of the judges did not believe that they could be drawn on ice. The seven time world champion in figure skating, Mr. Salhov from Sweden, believed in Panin and decided not to participate in the Olympics. Panin won in London very easily. The official report of the Games stated that Panin “superseded his competitors in the complexity of the figures that he drew on the ice as well as in the ease with which he performed them.”
Testimony of the spectators stated that the figures were performed with mathematical precision. There was a reason for this. Panin graduated with honors from the physical and mathematical college at St. Petersburg’s University, the School of Natural Sciences.
In 1907, Mr. Panin constructed special skates for figure skating which became the model for contemporary skates.
After his Gold medal in London, Mr. Panin left figure skating and in 1910 he published his Figure Skater’s Manual. He had chapters on the theory and practice of figure skating. The book became a very popular handbook and is being used even now by coaches of figure skating. The International Union of Figure Skaters made the book an official manual for figure skaters and issued a Gold Medal to the author. In 1914, Mr. Panin was a judge at the World Figure Skating Championship in Stockholm.
Berezhnaja is planning to skate at the ice show as a single skater.

After a one year break, the Olympic Pair Champion of Salt Lake City, Elena Berezhnaya, came back to Petersburg from Canada to start her practices for an Ice show where she will skate as a single.
Says Elena: “For the first time in my life I will skate alone. I am getting ready for it spiritually. Singe skating for me is a dark forest. I skated with a partner all of my life. Now I am studying new elements. In the past I had only to do double turns since in pair skating no more was necessary. I do not know what will come out of it, but it is very interesting to try.”

New feelings between Tatiana and Alexey flared up not long ago during their work together in the show “The Ice Symphony.” A few years ago they tried to date but due to constant quarrels, they separated.
It looks like this time they are serious. A few days ago she moved in with her suitcases into their posh new apartment that Alexey rented on New Arbat. Tatiana decided to try to become an announcer for TV shows and in the fall she is going to enroll in the TV acting school at Ostankino TV studious. Alexey is supporting her and maybe he will take part in some of her TV projects as well.
