ITS SHOW TIME!

“Ice Period” – show chronicles.

Translation of an article by Lidia Pavlenko printed in the Russian Language publication “Komsomolskaya Pravda” on September 11- 19, 2008.

Some time ago we reported that lovers Anastasia Zavorotnjuk and figure skater Peter Chernishev have broken up, but they reappeared together at the latest taping of the show "Ice Period."

While Anastasia was anchoring the show, Peter was sitting in the bleachers looking intensely at her. So, it seems as if they are back together. It also seems that Peter is not going to participate in either “Ice Period” on TV Channel One or “Dances on Ice” on the “Russia” TV Channel.

Meanwhile at the “Ice Period” show it was hard to recognize Maxim Stavisky.

The make up artists and wardrobe specialists transformed him so much that he did not look at all like himself. For the number of “Polovetsky Dances” they made this blond skater a dark hared brunet with a pony-tail.

Povilas Vanagas was transformed as well as to perform an Indian Dance.

Tatiana Navka came to the taping directly from the airport where she flew in from the Eurovision competition where she, together with Alexander Litvinenko, won second place in the international ballroom dancing competition. She was in such a a hurry that she did not bring her skating costume with her and was dancing on the ice in the same dress that she used for the Eurovision competition. But it did not slow her down at all.

Anna Semenovich was left without a partner after Alexey Kortnev fell down and broke two ribs. She thought that she would have to leave the show, but a knight appeared and saved her. The knight was World’s Champion in fencing Pavel Kolobkov.

Irina Slutskaya and Irina Lobacheva also found their partners, but at this time their names are kept secret so as to keep up the interest of the public.

The third season of the show is about to begin. There are 17 pairs of famous skaters and other stars.

The two coaches of the show – Ilja Averbuch and Alexander Zhulin -- changed their involvement in the show. If in the previous years they each were coaching a particular group of participants, who competed between themselves, this season both of them will work with all of the participants. The performance of the participants will be judged by the judges at the rink and by the TV spectators who will give their input by phone. The coach who prepared the winning pair will get additional points.
