Romance and Mystery Novels

by Alina Adams

There are changes afoot!

After four years of "Where Are They Now... on Ice," the December 2007 publication of my fifth and final figure skating mystery, "Skate Crime," as well as the New York Times best-selling success of my soap opera tie-in novels, "Oakdale Confidential" and "Jonathan's Story," has prompted me to take this blog in -- as they love to say on daytime TV -- a different direction.

In addition to continuing the updates and exclusive interviews with former national and international skating champions (and there are still the archives; just type your favorite skater's name into the search box below), I am expanding to include irreverent commentary on soaps, primetime television, books, writing for a living, kids, husbands, friends and anything else that might cross my mind on a given day.

Thanks for visiting!

PLUSHENKO'S PLANS

Evgeny Pluschenko – MBA in Hotel Management.

Translation of an article by Nikita Lisovoy printed in the Russian Language publication “Komsomolskaya Pravda” on September 3, 2008.

Evgeny Pluschenko showed again that he knows how to win, if it is a medal – it is gold, if it is a diploma – summa cum laude.

On September 1, the famous figure skater received a diploma from the St. Petersburg Economics University. Three years ago, he decided that just a sports education was not enough. He enrolled in the school of tourism and hospitality business. Now he is a qualified manager in this area. He was supposed to get the diploma in June, but was very busy with practices, rehearsals and family problems.

To mark the occasion, the school's leadership arranged to present him with a diploma on the first day of the new class.

As guest of honor, Pluschenko was seated next to the Chancellor of the University at the event. When he received his diploma, Pluschecnko gave a speech and encouraged the new students to study hard in one of the best schools in Russia.
