There are changes afoot!

After four years of "Where Are They Now... on Ice," the December 2007 publication of my fifth and final figure skating mystery, "Skate Crime," as well as the New York Times best-selling success of my soap opera tie-in novels, "Oakdale Confidential" and "Jonathan's Story," has prompted me to take this blog in -- as they love to say on daytime TV -- a different direction.

In addition to continuing the updates and exclusive interviews with former national and international skating champions (and there are still the archives; just type your favorite skater's name into the search box below), I am expanding to include irreverent commentary on soaps, primetime television, books, writing for a living, kids, husbands, friends and anything else that might cross my mind on a given day.

AND YET MORE LLOYD...

Skate Canada's refusal to tell its U.S. governing body why it suspended Lloyd Eisler from coaching has prompted questions about how athletes can find out if a coach is being disciplined.

Skate Canada suspended the two-time Olympic bronze medalist on Oct. 3 after he allegedly sent inappropriate emails to a 15-year-old female skater he was coaching.

A source familiar with Skate Canada's investigation told the Toronto Star at the time that the emails to the teen girl were sexually suggestive.

    His current love interest must surely be asking herself what huge mistake she's made in choosing to be with this guy.

    I doubt Lloyd's current love interest is wondering what she got herself into. There are a lot of naieve, gullible people around: i.e. Monica Lewinsky. His new love interest undoubtedly believes he will be different with her because they're really "in love". She probably doesn't realize that if he would treat other women this way, he'll do the same with her.
